Week 2:
A Sign Given and Ignored
Monday Memo notes

More “Immanuel” This Week
– Begin every day this week with some prayer focused on Immanuel – God with you in your most frightening, threatening, overwhelming circumstances. Tell God you want to “stand firm in faith” (Isaiah 7.9) and not let your fear steer you, unlike King Ahaz.
– Do a little reflection on where you need God to be with you right now. Namely, what are the biggest foes/enemies you face right now, perhaps even your own sin? How do you need God to be with you?
– Here are a few liturgical/prayer/reflection resources to weave into your own devotional life this week, all focused on choosing resilient, courageous faith and not fear:
Advent Prayer: Keep Us Awake
A Creed for Troubled Times: Luke 21
Affirmation of Faith: We Believe
