KirkWood Food Kupboard

KirkWood has a small free food pantry to support those in our local community. This pantry is called the KirkWood Food Kupboard and is located outside of the church near the front of the building.  This Kupboard offers non-perishable food/grocery items to those in need: “take what you need, leave what you can”. All are welcome to visit our Kupboard at any time.

Should anyone find needs greater than what our Kupboard can offer, please feel free to visit the following organizations for additional assistance.

Meals for Vets

We are continuing our Vet Meal Mission by providing meals for 2 Vet homes (5 men in each home) every Monday and Thursday. These homes support Vets transitioning from homelessness. Please consider assisting in this mission by fixing a casserole for 5 men. You can sign up through Signup Genius or call Gloria at 757-223-4104/757-719-0995 or Zora at 757-833-6406/757-869-3784 and they will sign you up, answer questions, and arrange for pickup.

Pumpkin Patch

The funds are used to support various missions, both youth and adult, in our church community and outside of this community. These funds also provide support for mission trips and for KirkWood mission teams (youth & adults) to go out into the local community to build wheelchair ramps, repair kitchens, bathrooms, roofs etc. for needy families. In addition, money was sent to Pumpkin Patch Inc. and to the Navajo Indian Reservation that grow and distribute the pumpkins.

Other Mission Activity

The KirkWood congregation provides ongoing support to Presbytery Missions, the Peninsula Pastoral Counseling Center, Lackey Free Clinic, Chiapas Mexico Mission, and the York County YMCA (Bright Beginnings) programs.
