Pastor Tucker

Dear KirkWood members and friends,

We learned Wednesday that Pastor Charles Tucker is experiencing some of the symptoms of the Covid-19 virus and is in self-quarantine.  His wife Melissa let us know that he had been to the doctor last week and was initially diagnosed with a nondescript virus. He has been home since March 18th and was feeling better until Tuesday, March 24th. Charles spoke to his doctor again but has not been tested so there is no confirmation of whether he is positive or not. We are thankful that he has not had any breathing problems.

Charles and the Session met by web-conference and we are working with the Presbytery to help us through this time. We want Charles and anyone else who is feeling unwell to stay home and get the rest they need.  All of us should be “sheltering at home,” washing our hands, practicing physical distancing of six feet, and covering coughs and sneezes.  Accordingly, we will continue Sunday worship online and keep you up to date with any changes.

We ask all of you to be in prayer for Charles, his wife Melissa, and their three daughters. Please also keep all those who may have been exposed to the virus in your prayers.  The Session will provide updates as new information becomes available.

God is our refuge and our strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change…

Psalm 46:1-2

In Christ’s service,

Your Session and representatives of the Presbytery
